FULLY FUNDED TO ROME: Apply for the UN FAO Global Agriinno Challenge 2025 for young agri-tech changemakers

Applications are now being accepted for the 2025 edition of the prestigious UN FAO Global AgriInno Challenge. Innovators, entrepreneurs, and startups working in the agrifood sector are encouraged to submit forward-thinking solutions aimed at transforming food systems through the power of emerging technologies and digital public infrastructure. Finalists will be invited to present their groundbreaking innovations at the renowned Science and Innovation Forum, held in Rome in October 2025.

This year’s challenge focuses on accelerating sustainable food system transformation by leveraging frontier technologies to enhance climate adaptability, strengthen food supply chain logistics, and improve access to nutritious food. Submissions should reflect a deep understanding of how digital innovation can advance agricultural resilience, reduce food insecurity, and promote eco-friendly farming practices.

Selected proposals will be evaluated for their originality, relevance to the central theme, and capacity to benefit underserved populations, particularly small-scale farmers and marginalized communities. Projects must demonstrate real potential for commercial viability, economic scalability, and the creation of inclusive employment opportunities. Strong emphasis will also be placed on how each solution contributes to environmental protection, reduces post-harvest losses, fosters biodiversity, and supports social equity within food production systems.

Teams must showcase technical proficiency, a clear operational strategy, and a commitment to inclusive leadership, including gender balance and diverse representation. Ideal applicants will have a track record of innovation in agtech, food security, or sustainable development, and the drive to expand their solution on a global scale.

Winners of the Global AgriInno Challenge will gain unparalleled exposure, including professional mentorship during an intensive 48-hour global innovation sprint, strategic coaching from experts in the UN system, private sector stakeholders, and leading investors. In addition to global visibility, selected teams will receive up to $30,000 in seed capital to help scale their agritech solutions.

Finalist teams will be fully sponsored to travel to China, with all costs for flights, accommodation, meals, and visas covered. Participants will also gain lifetime access to a vibrant international network of AgriInno alumni, industry leaders, venture capitalists, and policy makers driving the future of sustainable agriculture.

Apply now to become a catalyst for change in global food systems and help shape a more resilient, equitable, and sustainable future through innovation.
