The World Water Challenge is a global competition spearheaded by Korea's Ministry of Environment and coordinated by the Korea Water Forum, aimed at finding innovative solutions to water-related issues.

The World Water Challenge originated as a featured initiative under the Science and Technology track during the 7th World Water Forum. Its aim was to highlight pressing water-related concerns worldwide and promote practical, solution-oriented responses rooted in the principle of “action.”

Now in its 2025 edition, the challenge continues to evolve as a vital platform that brings together scientific innovation, policy strategies, and collaborative problem-solving. It invites professionals, researchers, and organizations across the globe to present real-world solutions that tackle urgent water issues while fostering a strong network of experts, stakeholders, and innovators in the water sector.

Purpose

World Water Challenge 2025 is dedicated to discovering forward-thinking proposals that directly address regional or global water challenges. Contributions should align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and must present concepts or technologies developed within the last decade.
