Are you a motivated young changemaker looking to shape global conversations and enhance youth involvement in civil society? Do you care deeply about civic participation, youth empowerment, and social justice? If so, the 2025 cohort of the CIVICUS Youth Action Team (YAT) wants to hear from you.
About the Youth Action Team (YAT)
The CIVICUS Youth Action Team is a youth-led global initiative that strengthens the role of young people within the CIVICUS World Alliance and across the civil society landscape. With a strong belief that civic space is a critical frontier for activism, the team champions youth participation by designing, co-creating, and implementing projects that reflect pressing priorities for young human rights defenders, social entrepreneurs, and activists.
Acting independently, YAT develops its own strategy and work plan, engaging directly with over 4,000 youth members of CIVICUS worldwide to drive innovation and action.

Applications are welcomed from young individuals who:
Will be aged 18 to 30 by December 31, 2025
Have a background in civic engagement, youth organizing, or social activism
Are committed to promoting youth rights and enhancing participation at all levels
Possess strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
Can contribute 10+ hours per month to team activities
Are experienced in organizing virtual dialogues and community engagement events
Are fluent in English and comfortable working across multiple time zones
Are affiliated with a grassroots or formal civil society group, regardless of registration status
Have previously held national or regional leadership roles in movements or networks
Have received necessary approval from any employer or organization for this voluntary role
Have experience mobilizing people for progressive social change, locally or globally
