Program Benefits
Participants in the programme have the chance to win up to US$100,000 in equity-free grants, giving them critical funding without having to give up ownership of their businesses. In addition to the financial support, selected participants will gain mentorship from seasoned operators, enabling them to refine strategies, scale operations, and overcome business challenges. Participants will also receive access to investor networks, as well as visibility and recognition that can help attract partnerships, customers, and additional funding. Beyond these tangible benefits, the programme fosters collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and community-building among women tech founders across Africa, creating lasting professional and personal networks.
Eligibility Criteria
The challenge is open to women who are founders or co-founders of technology or tech-enabled businesses operating anywhere in Africa. Eligible businesses span a wide range of sectors, including financial services and business tools, health and life sciences, climate and sustainability, consumer and lifestyle industries, infrastructure and mobility, and emerging technologies such as AI and machine learning. Applicants should demonstrate scalability, innovation, and potential social or economic impact. Strong applications will typically show a working product or service, clear market traction, and a concrete plan for growth within the African market. The programme places a particular emphasis on supporting women entrepreneurs who are creating meaningful solutions for their communities and contributing to economic empowerment across the continent.
