Paid Internship : GIZ is looking for Climate Finance Access intern at GIZ (Bonn, Germany )

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) is offering a fully funded internship under its Partnering for Readiness program. This initiative supports countries in building their capacity to access and manage international climate finance, with a focus on the Green Climate Fund (GCF).

Details:

Focus Areas: Climate finance, adaptation and mitigation strategies, green financial systems.
Languages: English (required); French or Spanish (advantageous)

About the Role:
The intern will work closely with GIZ’s Partnering for Readiness team, supporting efforts to enhance the ability of partner countries and institutions to independently access climate finance. The role provides exposure to international climate policy, development cooperation, and financial readiness practices. Tasks include:

  • Supporting the development, implementation, and reporting of climate finance activities.

  • Conducting research and preparing working materials on climate finance topics.

  • Assisting with communication, workshop preparation, and meeting follow-ups.

  • Preparing presentations and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

Eligibility Criteria
Enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a Master’s program.

Familiarity with climate change, international climate finance, adaptation/mitigation strategies, or green financial systems.

Understanding of development cooperation and experience from previous internships or part-time roles in related fields.

Strong analytical and organizational skills, with excellent written and verbal communication.

Proficiency in English; knowledge of French or Spanish is a plus.

Competent in MS Office (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
