FULLY FUNDED : Apply for the Ford Philanthropy Fellowship 2026

Applications are open for the Ford Philanthropy Fellowship,  for emerging entrepreneurs and community leaders working to create measurable social impact. The fellowship is designed to help promising leaders strengthen their ventures, develop leadership and business skills, and expand their ability to contribute to their communities.

The programme focuses on initiatives addressing community development, education, economic opportunity, entrepreneurship, and disaster preparedness and response. Through practical training, mentorship, financial tools, and networking, fellows gain resources to develop sustainable solutions and prepare their ventures for growth.

Focus Areas

The fellowship supports leaders working in areas such as:

  • Community development and resilience.
  • Education and capacity building.
  • Disaster preparedness and response.
  • Entrepreneurship and business development.
  • Financial literacy and access to resources.
  • Social-impact innovation.

Geographic Priority

While the fellowship has a global focus, particular consideration is given to applicants working in or connected to:

  • Germany
  • Mexico
  • South Africa
  • Thailand

Community Impact Component

A distinctive part of the fellowship is the Basecamp Community Initiative. Fellows receive support to design and facilitate a one-day workshop for early-stage entrepreneurs in their communities. The activity provides an opportunity to share knowledge, strengthen local entrepreneurial ecosystems, and put the fellowship's learning into practice.

Pitch Showcase

Participants also receive guidance on developing effective venture pitches. At the end of the programme, fellows have the opportunity to present their initiatives during a virtual summit, where they can gain exposure to mentors, investors, partners, and other members of the global network.

The Ford Philanthropy Fellowship offers emerging community leaders an opportunity to combine leadership development, entrepreneurship training, mentorship, practical community engagement, and global networking while strengthening ventures designed to create lasting social impact.
