Applications are open for the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) 2026 EDGE Fellowship.
Are you an emerging conservation professional passionate about safeguarding some of the planet’s most irreplaceable and threatened wildlife?
The 2026 EDGE Fellowship offers a 28-month opportunity designed to cultivate future conservation leaders in regions where such support is most needed.
This program provides financial backing, in-depth training, and expert guidance to enable fellows to carry out a two-year conservation initiative focused on a species listed as Evolutionarily Distinct and Globally Endangered (EDGE).
The 2026 application round welcomes global applicants, with preference given to those proposing projects based outside the G10 nations, European Union, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea.
Fellows will benefit from a rich and structured support system that includes:
- In-person training over six weeks
- A four-week Conservation Tools Course followed by a two-week advanced course on Conservation Impact, both hosted in the UK
- A minimum project grant of £10,000, with full autonomy to manage the budget and guidance on securing further resources
- Ongoing mentorship and access to professional development resources through the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) and its network of partners
