Applications Open for the 2026 Generation Changemaker Programme Across Europe

Applications are open for the 2026 Generation Changemaker (GenC) programme by Ashoka, inviting young people across Europe to step forward with their ideas, voices, and commitment to positive change. This initiative is designed for those who want their concerns to be taken seriously, who are ready to grow in confidence, and who are eager to turn their vision into meaningful action within a supportive European community.

Young people aged 14 to 24 who show empathy, courage, collaboration, and motivation are encouraged to apply. It is open to applicants from Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Germany, Italy, Poland, Belgium, the United Kingdom, and other European countries. Whether they have already started a project in their community or are just preparing to take their first step, the programme offers a platform to develop their potential and strengthen their impact. The application period runs from 20 January to 15 March.

Over the course of one year, selected participants will take part in in-person gatherings, interactive discussions, and online workshops alongside fellow changemakers and professionals from diverse fields. Key moments include a national meeting in Austria in May and an international GenC weekend in October, bringing together young leaders from different countries to connect and learn from one another.

The programme provides access to resources, mentoring opportunities, and learning formats from the wider Ashoka network and its partners. Participants gain visibility for their work and are recognised as knowledgeable contributors whose experiences and perspectives matter. The initiative also seeks to challenge outdated perceptions of young people by highlighting their expertise, creativity, and leadership in shaping solutions for society.

A special collaboration with TTTech will take place in October 2026 in Brixen, where 30 selected changemakers from across Europe will gather for a dedicated weekend focused on the future of work, responsibility, mindfulness, and technology. Through open dialogue and reflection, participants will explore how innovation and artificial intelligence can remain human-centred, how purpose and curiosity can be preserved in a rapidly evolving world, and how a safer, fairer, and more sustainable future can be built together.

This is an opportunity for young changemakers to join a vibrant European network, strengthen their self-belief, and contribute to shaping a future where technology and humanity move forward side by side.
