Applications are open for Youth-led organizations, networks, and initiatives in Africa and Europe the AU–EU Youth Action Lab Cooperation Grants 2026, a programme designed to strengthen youth partnerships and amplify youth voices in policy and development processes.
This opportunity supports collaborative projects that bring together African and European youth organisations to address shared challenges, promote youth advocacy, and foster sustainable social change. Selected partnerships will receive financial support to implement joint initiatives, alongside training, mentorship, and access to regional and international networks.
Participants will also gain tools and platforms to engage policymakers, contribute to decision-making processes, and strengthen cooperation between youth-led institutions across both continents. The programme encourages innovative, inclusive, and impact-driven approaches to youth empowerment, civic engagement, and policy influence.

- Capacity-building and practical tools to engage institutions and influence policy as active citizens
- Strong partnerships between youth organizations across Africa and Europe, promoting intercultural dialogue and collaborative solutions
- Applications must be submitted as a consortium consisting of two to four organisations. This partnership must include at least one organisation based in one of the 12 eligible African countries (Ethiopia, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia—Somaliland region, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia, or Zimbabwe) and one organisation established within the European Union. Individual organisations cannot apply alone.
- The organisation must be youth-led, meaning young people aged 18 to 35 hold leadership positions and have the main decision-making authority over the organisation’s strategy and programmes. Young people must also play a central role in designing and implementing activities, with more than 80% of those involved falling within this age group.
- The proposed project must also be fully youth-driven, with all staff responsible for project implementation being young people aged 18 to 35.
- The organisation must be formally registered in its country of operation, maintain an official organisational bank account, and have a defined governance and management structure.
