Applications are open for the Early Careers Foreign Policy Leadership Program 2026, a program for university students and recent graduates in Uganda who are interested in foreign policy and global affairs.

The program offers young participants an opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of foreign policy and explore how international developments influence Uganda and the wider world. The new cohort will meet weekly at the American Center in Kampala for a series of sessions focused on foreign policy leadership and global issues.

About the Program

The Early Careers Foreign Policy Leadership Program is designed for young people at the beginning of their professional journey who have a strong interest in understanding foreign policy and international affairs.

Through the program, participants will have the opportunity to broaden their understanding of foreign policy and examine the relationship between global events and Uganda.

The program will run through four sessions held between October and November 2026.

Program Schedule

Sessions will take place every Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. EAT.

The scheduled dates are:

• Wednesday, October 14, 2026 — 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. EAT
• Wednesday, October 21, 2026 — 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. EAT
• Wednesday, October 28, 2026 — 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. EAT
• Wednesday, November 3, 2026 — 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. EAT

What Participants Will Gain

Participants will gain firsthand exposure to foreign policy issues and have an opportunity to explore how global events affect Uganda and the international community.

The program provides a setting for young university students and recent graduates to deepen their understanding of international affairs and foreign policy leadership.

Important Information

The sessions will be held at the American Center in Kampala.

Participants are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from the program.

A valid identification document must be presented to access the American Center.

Only successful applicants will be contacted following the selection process.

Interested university students and recent graduates are encouraged to submit their applications before the deadline which is September 30, 2026.

The program begins on October 14, 2026, with sessions running through November 3, 2026.
