Applications are currently open for the 2026 Flow Research Fellowship, a cohort-based programme designed for individuals interested in contributing to real-world projects in artificial intelligence, systems design, research, product development, and digital storytelling.

The fellowship is supported by Association for Responsible AI (ARAI) and offers participants an opportunity to collaborate on open-source initiatives while receiving mentorship from professionals working across AI-native systems and emerging technologies.

About the Fellowship

The 12-week programme is structured around practical collaboration rather than classroom-style learning. Fellows will work on active projects linked to Flow Research’s mission of advancing AI-enabled organizational systems, decentralized technologies, and knowledge infrastructure.

Participants will join a global cohort and contribute to live projects while building a public portfolio of work.

Applicants can select one primary workstream based on their interests and expertise, including:

  • AI Research
  • Product Development
  • Systems and Protocol Engineering
  • Blockchain and Crypto Economics
  • Security and Threat Analysis
  • Learning Content Creation
  • Creative Media and Storytelling
  • Decentralized Infrastructure
  • Sustainability and Economic Systems
  • AI-native Organizational Tools

What Fellows Will Do

Selected fellows will:

  • Collaborate on open-source research and development projects
  • Work closely with mentors and contributors
  • Participate in virtual reviews and mentorship sessions
  • Produce at least one public-facing project or output
  • Present their work during Demo Week
  • Build experience through real project contributions rather than simulations

Programme Structure

The fellowship runs for 12 weeks and is designed to be flexible for part-time contributors.

Expected commitment:

  • Approximately 15–20 hours per week
  • Virtual collaboration and mentorship sessions
  • Independent project work and public contribution development

Important Note

The fellowship is a contribution-based learning and mentorship programme and does not currently provide upfront financial compensation or employment guarantees.

Instead, it focuses on mentorship, collaboration, portfolio development, and long-term contributor recognition.
