Apply for the IBM Sustainability Accelerator

IBM is taking applications for projects that employ AI innovation to promote sustainable production and consumption.

This newly formed group will focus on developing solutions for sustainable consumption and production, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 9 and 12. The goal is to promote sustainable economic growth, enhance supply chain effectiveness, and advance the application and growth of AI capabilities.

The IBM Sustainability Accelerator is designed to assist communities that are particularly vulnerable to environmental issues, introducing a new theme and group of organizations every year.

Key Areas: The IBM Sustainability Accelerator encourages proposals that address sustainable consumption and production, including these focus areas:

Advancing innovation in sustainable supply chains
Maximizing the efficient use of natural resources
Reducing food loss and waste
Promoting reuse and recycling
Strengthening logistics and transportation systems for resilience

Program Benefits

IBM partners with organizations to create, develop, and implement technical solutions that directly benefit communities. Throughout the process, IBM offers access to platforms like IBM watsonx, Granite AI models, IBM Cloud, IBM Environmental Intelligence, and Red Hat open source technologies, along with technical guidance to help build long-term capabilities. Organizations chosen for participation must sign an IBM grant agreement to access IBM technologies, services, and resources.

Alongside IBM’s support, selected organizations will also receive assistance from EY and ServiceNow. EY will conduct capacity-building workshops and provide coaching to the cohort, helping these organizations advance their missions. ServiceNow will offer participants the chance to be considered for its Platform solutions, including IT Service Management (ITSM) and Customer Service Management (CSM), as well as implementation grants and advisory support for digital business transformation.

Eligibility Criteria

Government and nonprofit organisations worldwide are eligible to apply for the IBM Sustainability Accelerator.
