This prestigious prize highlights initiatives that tackle Africa's challenges in innovative and transformative ways, with a focus on resilience, long-term impact, and empowering people to shape their own future.
Exclusion Criteria:
- Organizations from Somalia and Tanzania are excluded.
- Initiatives focusing on peace-building or women's economic empowerment are not eligible for this edition.
This is a unique opportunity for organizations working across a variety of sectors in Africa to gain recognition, increase their global visibility, and receive the resources necessary to expand their impact.

Eligibility Criteria
Who Can Apply:
Only organizations that are African-initiated, led, and managed by Africans are eligible.
For the 2025-2026 edition, organizations from Somalia and Tanzania, as well as those working on peace-building or women’s economic empowerment (themes covered by the previous laureates), are excluded to ensure diversity among winners.
Eligible Organizations: Must have been active since at least 2021 and can demonstrate a proven track record of societal impact.
Selection Criteria:
Impact & Track Record: Does the organization sustainably improve lives in Africa and contribute to societal transformation?
Inclusivity & Gender Equality: Does it promote a more inclusive and gender-equal society?
Local Impact & Scalability: Are initiatives embedded locally, with potential for replication across Africa or globally?
Leadership & Resilience: Does the organization have capable leadership, and is it resilient in changing contexts?
Financial Integrity: Is the organization’s financial management healthy, transparent, and backed by audited reports?
