Applications are now open for the 2026 Sister-to-Sister Young Feminist Leadership Program, an international initiative led by the Nobel Women’s Initiative that supports emerging feminist leaders working to advance peace, justice, and human rights.

The six-week virtual program will bring together 25 young activists from diverse regions of the world to strengthen leadership skills, expand global networks, and explore how emerging technologies are shaping peace and security. Participants will engage in interactive learning, peer exchange, and collaborative discussions focused on this year’s theme: “Peace in the Age of AI: Building Feminist Futures.”

About the Program

The Sister-to-Sister Program has supported young feminist leaders for more than a decade by creating opportunities for learning, solidarity, and leadership development. The 2026 edition focuses on understanding the growing influence of artificial intelligence on society, conflict, information systems, and gender equality.

Participants will examine the opportunities and risks associated with AI while exploring ways to promote inclusive, rights-based, and feminist approaches to technology and peacebuilding.

What Participants Will Learn

The program aims to help participants:

• Understand how AI is influencing power structures, conflict, and peace processes
• Analyze the impact of digital technologies on women’s rights and feminist movements
• Explore AI-related issues such as disinformation, online harassment, digital security, and autonomous weapons
• Develop practical strategies to navigate digital challenges safely and effectively
• Learn how technology can support feminist peacebuilding and social justice initiatives
• Strengthen leadership skills through peer learning and mentorship
• Build lasting international networks of solidarity and collaboration

While not required, experience in any of the following areas may strengthen an application:

• Peacebuilding and conflict resolution

• Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) advocacy
• Journalism and media
• Digital rights and online safety

• Countering misinformation and disinformation
• Human rights and gender equality advocacy

Required Application Materials

Applicants must submit:

• A personal statement or short video (maximum two minutes) describing their activism, challenges, and goals
• An updated résumé or CV
• A reference letter from a feminist, peacebuilding, social justice, or digital rights organization or activist

Selection Process

• Applications will be reviewed for completeness and eligibility
• Shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in a virtual group interview
• Successful applicants will receive further onboarding information before the program begins
