Applications are now being accepted for the 9th edition of the Young Peacebuilders Programme organized by the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC). The initiative is designed to support young leaders from South Caucasus and Central Asian countries who are passionate about peacebuilding, social cohesion, intercultural dialogue, and community development.
The programme offers a unique opportunity for participants to strengthen their leadership abilities, gain practical peacebuilding skills, and join a growing network of young changemakers working to address conflict, discrimination, and social divisions.
About the Programme
The Young Peacebuilders Programme provides an immersive learning experience that combines online education, practical training, mentorship, and community engagement. Participants will explore topics such as conflict transformation, intercultural understanding, social inclusion, nonviolence, and youth participation in peace processes.
Through the Peace4Culture Global Call initiative, the programme seeks to empower young people to become active contributors to peaceful and inclusive societies while promoting dialogue across cultures, faiths, and communities.
Programme Components
Selected participants will take part in several stages of learning and engagement:
- Interactive online learning modules led by experienced facilitators.
- A one-week in-person training workshop focused on peacebuilding and leadership skills.
- Development and implementation of local peace projects within participants' communities.
- A final symposium where participants will share project outcomes, experiences, and recommendations with policymakers, practitioners, civil society representatives, and international stakeholders.
