Apply for the United Nations Graduate Study Programme (GSP) 2026 

Graduate students from around the world are now invited to apply for the 64th edition of the United Nations Graduate Study Programme, an intensive academic experience hosted at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. The 2026 programme will run from 29 June to 10 July 2026, focusing on the theme:

“AI and Emerging Technologies: Realities, Risks, and Opportunities.”

For more than six decades, the GSP has introduced young scholars to the work of the UN system and the international organizations based in Geneva. Close to 3,500 participants have taken part in this flagship programme, gaining a deeper understanding of global governance, diplomacy, and multilateral cooperation.

Important Dates

  • Applications close: 20 February 2026 (12:00 noon Geneva time)

  • Results announced: First week of April 2026

Costs

There is no fee to join the programme. However, participants must cover their own travel, accommodation, visa expenses, and meals. Some universities or external donors may offer financial support to selected students.

Eligibility Criteria
- Age: 22–32

- Education: Completed a Bachelor’s degree and currently enrolled in a graduate-level programme

- Employment: Not employed full-time

- Language: Strong command of English (all documents must be submitted in English; translations required otherwise)

- Selection is based on academic merit, motivation, extracurricular involvement, and overall suitability for the programme. The UN encourages applications from all regions to maintain balanced representation.
