Applications are now open for young islanders interested in participating virtually in the 64th Session of the Subsidiary Bodies (SB64) under the United Nations climate negotiations process.
The opportunity is being organized by Oileán through the Island Youth Network, with support from SMILO - Small Islands Organisation.
The programme aims to create pathways for young islanders to engage directly with global climate diplomacy and international decision-making spaces ahead of COP31.
About the Opportunity
Between 8–18 June 2026, selected participants will virtually follow the UN climate negotiations taking place during SB64 under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change process.
Two young islanders will be selected to participate remotely and gain practical exposure to international climate negotiations and policy discussions.
Programme Format
The programme is fully virtual, allowing participants to engage from their home countries during the negotiation period.
Participants may choose their level of engagement depending on availability throughout the two-week process.
