The Business & Human Rights Resource Centre (the Resource Centre) is looking for an experienced and dynamic Project Manager to lead the implementation of an exciting new cross-regional project funded by the European Commission.
This project aims to transition Africa and Asia towards a green, rights-based economy, empowering communities and businesses to engage in sustainable, fair, and inclusive economic practices. The project will focus on corporate human rights and environmental due diligence, creating a lasting impact on policy, business models, and grassroots civil society empowerment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Operations: Manage day-to-day operations of the CARPET project, ensuring effective collaboration with partners in Africa, Asia, and Europe.
- Budget & Financial Management: Oversee budget forecasts, financial tracking, and sub-granting to grassroots organisations. Ensure compliance with donor regulations.
- Monitoring & Evaluation: Implement monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) strategies to track the project's success.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Foster relationships with civil society, businesses, governments, and other key stakeholders to advance project goals.
- Advocacy & Representation: Represent the Resource Centre at relevant events, conferences, and in media, advocating for policies that promote corporate accountability and rights-based transitions.
- Publications & Communication: Produce content for reports, blogs, and other communications materials to amplify the project’s work.
Terms and Conditions:
- Contract: Full-time consultancy (35 hours per week), initially for 12 months with potential for extension.
- Start date: 15 March 2025.
- Interviews: Week of 3 February 2025.

Additional Information

Competitive salary of €43,126 - €48,404 per annum (pro-rata based on experience).

Experience:
6-8 years in human rights, business and human rights, labor rights, environmental/social justice, or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience leading international, multi-cultural teams and managing EU/UN/USAID funded projects.
Experience working with businesses, government bodies, and civil society organizations.
Proven track record in advocacy, policy development, and corporate accountability.
Skills:
Strong project management and budgeting skills.
Familiarity with MEAL strategies, OPSYS, and EU regulations.
Excellent communication skills, especially in English, and ability to write compelling content for diverse audiences.
Strong research and analytical abilities, including experience with systematic data collection.
Supervisory experience is a plus.
