Call for Applications: Plant-for-the-Planet Delegation to UNFCCC COP29
Plant-for-the-Planet invites passionate climate advocates to join our delegation to the 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29) in Baku, Azerbaijan, from November 11-22, 2024.
Application Deadline: September 23, 2024, 9:00 AM CEST
Selection Criteria:
To enhance your chances of selection, consider the following factors:
- Advocacy and presentation experience
- Support for Plant-for-the-Planet campaigns and academies
- Media engagement and interviews
- Previous COP participation and immaculate behavior
- Age range: 18-30 years
- Ability to cover travel and related expenses (self-funded)
Responsibilities:
Selected delegates agree to:
- Participate in daily team meetings and preparatory calls
- Take on team tasks (e.g., content creation, logistics)
- Support side events and info booth shifts
- Engage with media and outreach
- Network with like-minded organizations and partners
- Adhere to UNFCCC code of conduct, local laws, and YOUNGO principles
- Wear Plant-for-the-Planet branding at events
- Sign a COP-specific Code of Conduct
Important Notes:
- Limited badges available (approx. 5 per week)
- No funding support for travel costs
- Strategic badge allocation to maximize diversity and representation
- No entitlement to participate in a particular conference week or both weeks
