FULLY FUNDED : Apply for the 2024 Community Solutions Program in USA

Applications are now open for the 2024 Community Solutions Program . The Community Solutions Program (CSP) is a 12-month professional development program for community leaders who are already working to better their neighborhoods by tackling problems with democracy and human rights, the environment, peace and conflict resolution, and women and gender. The CSP consists of a graduate-level leadership curriculum, a four-month hands-on U.S. practicum, and a six-month follow-up community project that fellows carry out in their own country.

Community leaders will be chosen to take part in the following program:

Four-month fellowship in the United States :In order to enhance their technical skills and expertise, Community Solutions fellows are matched with host organizations across the United States and conduct a four-month practicum there.

Community Leadership Institute: The Community Leadership Institute is a graduate-level leadership programme that Community Solutions fellows take part in to hone their management and leadership abilities. The Institute offers networking opportunities, professional mentoring, online courses, and in-person training.

Community-based initiatives: Community Solutions fellows conceive and plan a community development project or initiative while they are abroad, with assistance from their U.S. host organization. Following their departure from the United States, the fellows carry out a six-month follow-up project in their local communities.

Program Benefits
- The Community Solutions Program offers a monthly stipend to cover the costs of accommodation, food, and other daily living expenses while the participant is visiting the USA.

- Additionally, it offers assistance in securing the J-1 visa required for enrollment in the program.

- The CSP pays for round-trip transportation costs from the participant's city of residence to the United States.

- Additionally, candidates have complete medical coverage for illnesses and accidents while enrolled in the program.

- There are provisions for accessibility requirements, such as ADA-compliant training rooms, JAWS software, community support, and training to guarantee that all participants may fully participate in the program.

- Participants in the program have a special chance to develop their leadership abilities.

- The opportunity to live and work in the United States exposes fellows to a variety of cultures and viewpoints.
Eligibility Criteria
You are between the ages of 26 and 39 as of January 1, 2024
You are a citizen of one of the eligible countries listed below
- You are living and working in your home country
- Individuals with refugee status working on behalf of their home community may be given special consideration
- You have at least two years of experience working on community development, either as a full-time or part-time employee or volunteer
- You are not currently participating in an academic, training, or research program in the U.S.
You have a high level of proficiency in spoken and written English at the time of application
Semifinalists will be required to take and pass or submit recent scores for a TOEFL or IELTS English language test

- You are available to travel to the U.S. for four months from August to December 2024
- You are not a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S. and have not applied for U.S. permanent residency within the past three years

- You are eligible to receive a U.S. J-1 visa
Applicants who have participated in an exchange program sponsored by the U.S. Government must have fulfilled their two-year home residency requirement

- You are committed to returning to your home country for a minimum of two years after completing the program and
You are not a current IREX employee or consultant, or their immediate family member
