The African Leadership Centre (ALC) is now accepting applications for its prestigious Peace, Security and Development Fellowships and Associate Fellowships for the 2025/2026 academic year.
These fully and partially funded opportunities are designed for emerging African and Global South leaders passionate about peacebuilding, security, development, and transformative leadership. The fellowships offer a unique combination of academic training, hands-on experience, and professional mentorship.
Fellowship Opportunities
1. Fellowship for African Scholars in Peace, Security & Development (Fully Funded, Degree-Awarding)
- Duration: 18 months
- Includes: MSc in Global Leadership & Peacebuilding at King’s College London, tailored mentoring, and a 6-month placement at a top African institution
- Eligibility: Young African scholars committed to shaping peace and security discourse in Africa
2. Associate Fellowship Bursary for African Students (Partial Funding)
- Target: Students from Africa applying to the MSc Global Leadership & Peacebuilding
- Funding: 25% tuition + £5,000 for living expenses
- Eligibility: Young Africans committed to careers in leadership, security, and development
3. Global South Associate Fellowship Bursary (Partial Funding)
- Target: Students from the Global South pursuing the same MSc
- Funding: 25% tuition + £5,000 for living expenses
- Bonus: Optional short internship with an international institution
Eligibility Highlights
- Applicants must demonstrate leadership potential, commitment to peace and development, and alignment with ALC values
- Must apply through both King’s College London and ALC Nairobi portals
