FULLY FUNDED: Apply for the Johns Hopkins Gender Equity/GBV Evidence Accelerator Fellowship 2025

This year-long program, hosted by the Center for Global Women’s Health and Gender Equity (CGWHGE) at Johns Hopkins University, offers selected participants the opportunity to engage in sponsored mentorship and tailored coursework. It is designed for professionals, scholars, and practitioners actively involved in advancing gender equity, including efforts to address gender-based violence (GBV), particularly in low- and middle-income settings.

Structured as a part-time fellowship, the initiative focuses on developing expertise in generating, analyzing, and translating evidence to support work in gender equity and GBV. Participants will undertake curated coursework at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (BSPH) and receive continuous mentorship from CGWHGE faculty. The program promotes networking and professional growth through a cohort-based approach, with one in-person gathering and additional activities conducted virtually. Fellows are expected to complete a project addressing gender equity or GBV, such as conducting secondary analyses of survey data or synthesizing evidence. Faculty will provide mentorship and analytical support throughout the project. Time requirements average 10 hours weekly, increasing to 20 hours during intensive coursework periods, along with travel for in-person events.

The program seeks individuals engaged in roles such as program monitoring and evaluation, community research, or professional practice. PhD students and postdoctoral researchers operating within low- or middle-income settings are also encouraged to apply. Eligible candidates should demonstrate prior experience in gender equity or GBV-related research and express a clear need to enhance their skills in evidence-based program implementation, policy development, or research to further their career objectives.

Eligibility criteria include residing and working in a low- or middle-income country, active engagement in gender/GBV work, and holding a PhD, postdoctoral, or junior faculty position. Current master’s students are ineligible. Applicants should possess experience in research, monitoring and evaluation, or statistical software applications such as STATA or R.

The program covers travel expenses, course fees, and faculty mentorship but does not provide financial compensation for participants’ time. It is recommended that candidates discuss their involvement with their employers to ensure flexibility for coursework or meetings that may occur during standard working hours. This initiative is supported by funding from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation.
