Africa’s public health future depends on strong, ethical, and visionary leadership. The Kofi Annan Fellowship in Global Health Leadership is now accepting applications for Cohort 6, offering a fully funded, high-level leadership experience for senior public health professionals across Africa.
This prestigious fellowship is designed to equip experienced practitioners with the strategic, managerial, and leadership skills needed to strengthen health systems and advance Africa’s Health Security and Sovereignty Agenda. The programme is jointly supported by Africa CDC and the Kofi Annan Foundation and has built a strong legacy of impact across the continent.
About the Fellowship
The fellowship combines digital learning, residential placements, and applied leadership projects to prepare participants for senior decision-making roles in public health. Fellows work closely with leading experts, policymakers, and institutions while contributing to the transformation of health systems at national and regional levels.
Since its launch, the programme has supported over 80 fellows from more than 30 African countries, many of whom now lead major public health initiatives, influence policy, and drive cross-border collaboration.
Who Can Apply
The fellowship is open to senior public health professionals from African Union Member States with experience in areas such as:

- Hold a postgraduate degree in a public health-related field
