The Mastercard Foundation and Ashesi University have been working together since the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program was introduced in 2012. Among the nine original partners of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program was Ashesi.

Since the program began, hundreds of Mastercard Foundation Scholars have enrolled at Ashesi University.

What is the Mastercard Foundation Scholar designation?
As students and graduates, Mastercard Foundation Scholars are supposed to be role models for their communities throughout Africa. The program's expectation that students give back to their communities is a key element. Through volunteer and community service initiatives, students at Ashesi will have the opportunity to actively work on this.

In addition to offering Africans complete financial options, the Ashesi University MasterCard Foundation financial aims to offer all-encompassing assistance for leadership, intellectual, and personal growth.
