The European Parliament is inviting applications for the 2026 Sakharov Fellowship for Human Rights Defenders, a prestigious programme designed to strengthen the capacity of human rights advocates from non-EU countries.

The fellowship will select up to 14 human rights defenders to participate in an intensive training programme in Brussels and another European Union Member State. Participants will gain practical knowledge, build international networks, and deepen their understanding of how the European Union promotes and protects human rights globally.
