Applications are open for the Africa Climate Academy 2026, an immersive and transformative training program tailored for African professionals working on climate change, energy transitions, and sustainable development. Organized by ACEP, the Academy brings together policymakers, journalists, civil society leaders, and academics to build their capacity in shaping climate-responsive policies and solutions across the continent.

The program is designed to challenge dominant narratives surrounding Africa’s energy transition, climate action, and resource governance. Through dynamic discussions, expert-led sessions, and hands-on workshops, participants will acquire practical knowledge and innovative strategies to champion transparency, accountability, and sustainability in climate governance.

The Africa Climate Academy will take place from May 25 to May 29, 2026 in Accra, Ghana, with all sessions conducted in person. The opportunity is open to professionals from all African countries working in relevant sectors, including government officials in energy and environmental planning, journalists covering climate and energy issues, civil society leaders advocating for sustainable development, and researchers or educators focused on climate change and energy policies.

Selected participants will receive full funding, which covers tuition, learning materials, round-trip travel, accommodation, and meals for the duration of the program.

Participation in the Academy is fully funded, ensuring that selected candidates can attend the program without financial barriers. All tuition costs and required learning materials are completely covered, allowing participants to focus fully on the learning experience.

For international participants, the program will cover round-trip airfare to and from Ghana. In addition, all participants, including those from Ghana, will receive ground transportation to and from the program venue to ensure smooth travel arrangements.

During the one-week program, participants will be provided with comfortable accommodation for the entire duration of their stay. All meals will also be arranged by the organizers, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided each day throughout the program.
