Young leaders passionate about climate mobility now have the chance to participate in a transformative experience through the Climate Mobility Fellowship. Designed to empower emerging changemakers from Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Pacific, this year-long fellowship offers a unique combination of academic training, policy immersion, and practical experience aimed at creating real-world solutions in the rapidly evolving field of climate mobility.

Running from June 2025 to May 2026, this hybrid program will provide fellows with both in-person and virtual engagements to foster collaboration and deep learning. Participants will gain critical knowledge of international policies related to climate mobility, as well as hands-on project involvement to apply what they learn in real-world scenarios. The fellowship is set to support 12 young leaders, including four representatives from Pacific Small Island Developing States (SIDS), all of whom will receive a stipend to support their active participation throughout the program.

Throughout the fellowship, participants will have opportunities to build expertise in climate mobility governance, research, and policy-making while engaging directly with key international policy processes. In addition to cultivating essential skills, fellows will expand their networks and establish meaningful connections within the global climate mobility community.

Eligible candidates must be between 18 and 30 years old, proficient in English, and based in or nationals of countries in Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, or the Pacific Islands.

As the flagship initiative of the Climate Mobility Academy, this fellowship reflects a broader mission to build capacity, foster collaboration, and drive meaningful action on climate mobility at a global level.

The Climate Mobility Fellowship will offer young leaders unparalleled access to prominent international events centered around climate mobility. Fellows will actively participate in several key global convenings, including the UN Oceans Conference and the Berlin Climate Mobility Forum in June 2025, the UN High-Level Week and Climate Mobility Summit in September 2025, and the pivotal COP30 in November 2025.

These engagements will provide a unique platform for fellows to network with global decision-makers, take part in expert panels, and immerse themselves in critical discussions shaping international climate policies. Through these experiences, participants will deepen their understanding of policy frameworks and strengthen their role as future leaders in the climate mobility space.
