FULLY FUNDED TO COY19 AND COP29: Apply for the Klimadelegation ISLA COP29 program for Global South youth
Klimadelegation are thrilled to introduce the International Support for Local Activists (ISLA) COP29 Initiative, a collaborative effort between Klimadelegation e.V. (KD) and the Climate Diplomacy Action Programme (CDAP), supported by the German Federal Foreign Office (FFO) and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ) through the International Climate Initiative (IKI) funds.
This program aims to empower five youth climate groups from diverse regions - Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, the Pacific, and the MENA regions - by providing comprehensive technical and logistical assistance.
The selected groups will participate in both the 19th Global Conference of Youth (COY19) and the 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29) in Baku, Azerbaijan, in November 2024.
The program focuses on three key pillars:
1. Capacity Enhancement: Tailored training sessions will address specific knowledge gaps, covering topics such as COP29 negotiation agenda items and effective storytelling.
2. Logistical Support: All expenses for up to three representatives per selected group to attend COY19 and COP29 will be covered.
3. Networking Opportunities: Participants will connect with other youth organizations from various regions, engaged in vital climate justice work.
Additionally, selected groups will receive a micro-grant of €1,000 to support local and regional activities after COP29 participation, bridging the local and international spheres.
