The DAAD Rosa Luxembourg Scholarship for 2024 is now accepting applications from both domestic and foreign students.

Slightly connected to DIE LINKE (The Left Party), the RLF is a political education organisation that grants scholarships to foreign students wishing to pursue doctorates or conduct dissertation research in Germany.

The Foundation's political ideals—social justice and solidarity in particular—form the basis of the sponsorship.

Program Benefits

A monthly payment of 1,450 EUR is given to doctoral applicants, together with a 100 EUR mobility allowance and, if needed, health care subsidies.
Two years, with the possibility to extend it twice by six months for technical or academic reasons, and by up to an additional year in the event of illness, incapacity or parental leave.

Eligibility Criteria

enrollment in or recognition by the German government as a higher education institution; supervision by a German university lecturer
excellent graduate degree, social participation according with the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation's ideals, and at least a B2 level of German proficiency (evidence necessary)
