Do you lead a creative and significant project in Latin America or the Caribbean as an Afro-descendant leader between the ages of 18 and 30?

Apply for the coveted Ilia Calderón Scholarship 2025 if you're interested in giving young leaders full funding to attend the One Young World Summit in Munich in 2025.

This fellowship, which is sponsored by the Jang Calderón Family Foundation and supported by renowned writer and activist Ilia Calderón, is to encourage and inspire young leaders who are making a difference in their communities.

Concerning the One Young World Summit
The most influential young leaders in the world come together at One Young World, a global event that gives them a stage on which to offer their answers to the most important problems facing the world.

The 2025 Summit will be held from November 3rd to November 6th in Munich, Germany. Inspiring people from all around the world are expected to come together this year to have meaningful conversations, exchange stories, and foster partnerships for a brighter future.

Concerning the Scholarship
The organisers of the Ilia Calderón Scholarship are thrilled to offer two outstanding Afro-descendant leaders from Latin America and the Caribbean the chance to participate in this life-changing event once more, after its tremendous success in years 2021–2024.

Program Benefits
The chosen students will benefit from a fully-funded program that consists of:

Entry to Munich's One Young World Summit in 2025.
Accommodations in private rooms from November 2–6, 2025.
Travel costs to and from Munich in economy class.
coverage of the cost of domestic transportation to the airport for flights abroad (economy class).
Visa fees, if applicable.
transportation from the Summit lodging to the event location.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are among the meals served at the Summit and by the hotel.
services for translating between Spanish and English during plenary sessions, welcoming speeches, and closing ceremonies.
Eligibility Criteria
be between the ages of 18 and 30 when the One Young World Summit takes place.

Colombia, Venezuela, Haiti, Panama, Honduras, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Cuba, Dominica, Guyana, Grenada, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Brazil are among the nations from which you may be a citizen.

Show a great dedication to the betterment of their territory and communities.

Demonstrate their effect and relevance by leading or taking part in activities.

Demonstrate shown leadership skills and originality when tackling regional or worldwide problems.

Have a compelling reason for attending the One Young World Summit.
