Fully Funded to New York for the UN Global Goals/Climate week : Apply for the WE Empower UN SDG Challenge

The 2025 WE Empower UN SDG Challenge, a worldwide business competition for women and social entrepreneurs who are promoting the UN Sustainable Development Goals and motivating entire communities to build the society they desire by 2030, is now accepting applications.

During the UN Global Goals/Climate week, September 21–28, 2025, the successful Awardees will be notified by July 2025 and given the chance to visit New York City, New York (NY) to take part in a number of specially designed trainings provided by leading and supporting partners and attend high-profile events with UN officials.

Applicants will be evaluated based on several factors, including the following:

  • A commitment to attending the full week of the in-person program (travel permitting) or a virtual program taking place from August to October 2025—no exceptions will be made.
  • The applicant’s business or organization should have a significant impact on the SDGs and a clear vision for how it will contribute to shaping the future they aim for by 2030.
  • Applicants should be able to influence and shape discussions about the advancement of women and the SDGs in their region.
  • For applicants involved in more than one business or organization, please specify which one you wish to focus on for the Global Challenge opportunity, should you be selected to participate in the program.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for this competition, applicants must meet all of the following requirements. Finalists will need to provide proof of sales, such as tax returns or audited financial statements.

- Applicants must identify as a woman entrepreneur.
- Applicants must hold a leadership role with decision-making authority within their business or organization.
- The business or organization must have been operating for a minimum of three years as of August 1, 2024.
- The business must employ at least three full-time staff members or full-time equivalents.
- The business or organization should generate at least $75,000 in annual revenue. For nonprofit organizations, this may include funds from donations, grants, and fundraising activities.
- Applicants must have professional proficiency in English.
- Applicants must be at least 21 years old by August 1, 2024.
- Applicants must be able to travel to New York, NY, and attend all events from September 21–28, 2025, and, if necessary, participate in a virtual program from August to December 2025.
- Applicants will need to provide basic details about themselves, their business, and the country in which they primarily operate.
