Fully Funded TO New Zealand & Hawai‘i : Apply for the Indo-Pacific Futures Fellowship

Many of the significant challenges faced today stem from issues surrounding access to resources, economic and environmental instability, and inefficiencies in governance. Tackling these challenges demands leadership that is innovative, proactive, and responsive to the needs of local communities. Now entering its second year, the Indo-Pacific Futures Fellowship, a collaboration between the East-West Center and the Doris Duke Foundation, will focus on exploring the crucial links between food security, energy systems, and leadership aimed at promoting the common good.

The fellowship will delve into how effective leadership can enhance systems that balance economic development, resource availability, and long-term sustainability. Fellows will investigate approaches to ensure reliable access to vital resources, from personal food security to societal energy transitions. The program will encourage insightful discussions through storytelling, diverse perspectives, and immersive experiences, aiming to unite varying viewpoints and contribute to a future where food and energy systems are both dependable and sustainable.

Participants, who will come from diverse fields such as government, advocacy, community organizations, media, technology, arts, business, entrepreneurship, and sectors involved in food and energy production, will bring a wealth of experiences and ideas. Through in-person sessions in Hawai‘i and Aotearoa (New Zealand), along with regular virtual meetings, they will engage with experts and participate in collaborative activities that will enhance their knowledge, leadership skills, and networks.
