Fully Funded to Norway : Apply for the 2025 Internet Governance Forum Travel Support
The 2025 Internet Governance Forum Travel Support is now accepting applications. The UN Secretary-General has urged for action to make the IGF procedures more inclusive during IGF 2018, emphasising that the IGF needs to do more to incorporate the "weak and missing voices" into its work.
A more comprehensive multidisciplinary approach was also advocated in order to include specialists who are not often involved in IGF procedures. The community also echoed calls for greater diversity and inclusion in the range of IGF involvement.
These factors make it possible for a select group of qualified applicants from developing nations to attend the 20th annual conference of the IGF, which will be held in Lillestrøm, Norway, from June 23 to 27, 2025, and sponsored by the Norwegian government. The Norwegian government contributes to the IGF Global South Fund in order to provide support.
SELECTION PROCEDURE
The IGF Secretariat will assess received applications based on the eligible criteria listed above. If the three first formal criteria are met, applications will be given additional consideration; the number of selected candidates will depend on the funds available. The final participant compositions will be balanced in terms of age, gender, and stakeholder representation.
The IGF Secretariat may approach under-represented stakeholders who can enhance the meeting's diversity and who meet the eligibility requirements, offering to support their attendance at the IGF 2025.
Don't miss out on the application deadline which is February 17, 2025.
