FULLY FUNDED TO SOUTH KOREA : Apply for the UNESCO MGIEP Youth Fellowship on Leadership for Peace and Sustainability 2026

Applications are now open for the UNESCO MGIEP Youth Fellowship on Leadership for Peace and Sustainability 2026, an intensive fully funded international fellowship designed to empower young leaders committed to advancing peace, inclusion, and sustainable development.

Organized by UNESCO Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (MGIEP), the fellowship will take place from 25 June to 4 July 2026 at Humanitas College, Kyung Hee University in South Korea.

The program offers a transformative learning environment where selected Indian youth will explore peacebuilding, conflict transformation, digital innovation, and social change aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

About the Fellowship

The UNESCO MGIEP Youth Fellowship is structured as an action-oriented leadership experience that combines academic learning, practical engagement, and collaborative dialogue. Using real-world case studies from across the Asia-Pacific region, participants will deepen their understanding of how peace education and sustainable development intersect in today’s rapidly changing world.

Through immersive sessions and collaborative activities, fellows will critically reflect on global challenges while strengthening leadership skills needed to promote inclusive and peaceful societies both in India and internationally.

Fellowship Objectives

The program aims to:

  • Develop leadership capacities among Indian youth committed to peace and sustainability
  • Strengthen understanding of emerging global and local challenges affecting societies
  • Encourage innovative approaches linking digital technology, social innovation, and SDGs
  • Build a strong network of UNESCO MGIEP young leaders working toward sustainable futures
  • Support participants in integrating fellowship learning into long-term career pathways

Eligibility Criteria
- Be under 30 years old at the start of the fellowship

- Be citizens of India currently residing in India

- Have completed an undergraduate degree before the fellowship begins

- Show commitment to leadership, peacebuilding, or sustainability initiatives

- Applications are encouraged from individuals of all genders, socio-economic backgrounds, cultures, and persons with disabilities.
