Applications are open for Water and sanitation utilities around the world to apply for the 2026 Climate Smart Utilities (CSU) Recognition Programme, an initiative led by the International Water Association (IWA) to celebrate organizations driving climate action across the water sector.

The programme recognizes utilities that are strengthening climate resilience, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and demonstrating leadership in promoting sustainable and climate-smart water management. It also provides a platform for participants to showcase their achievements, exchange best practices, and inspire broader action across the global water community.

About the Programme

  • Leadership: Driving innovation, collaboration, and climate action within the water sector and beyond.

Applications are reviewed by an independent panel of experts, with selected utilities receiving international recognition during the IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition 2026 in Glasgow, Scotland, taking place from 4–8 October 2026.
