Applications are open for the Ludovika Fellowship Program 2027, an international academic fellowship hosted by the Ludovika University of Public Service (LUPS) in Budapest, Hungary.
The programme invites internationally recognized academics, lecturers, researchers and other members of the academic community to spend between one and three months at the university during 2027. Fellows will have an opportunity to pursue research, contribute to teaching, collaborate with faculty members and strengthen international academic connections.
About the Ludovika Fellowship
The Ludovika Fellowship Program is designed to bring internationally recognized foreign academics to LUPS for short-term academic and research engagements.
Selected fellows are expected to dedicate their time to the programme, advance their research, participate in the university's academic activities and share their expertise with students and faculty. Teaching forms an important part of the fellowship, with fellows required to deliver at least two lectures each week in English at BA, MA or PhD level.
The programme also encourages fellows to collaborate with LUPS academics on research, teaching and publications while contributing to the university's international academic network.

What Fellows Will Do
Successful fellows will be expected to make an active contribution to the university throughout their residency.
Their responsibilities include:
- Conducting research in their respective field
- Delivering at least two lectures per week in English
- Teaching students at BA, MA or PhD level
- Participating in academic, research and extracurricular activities
- Collaborating with faculty members on research, teaching and publications
- Contributing to the university's international academic network
- Submitting monthly progress reports, including a short abstract
- Preparing a final narrative report or scientific paper
The fellowship is intended to provide an opportunity for meaningful academic exchange rather than simply a short research visit.

Applicants should prepare and submit:
- Completed application form
- Professional CV, including a list of publications
- Project Proposal outlining the planned fellowship activities
- Letter of Reference, where applicable for applicants with less than six years of full-time academic experience
Fellowship Duration
The Ludovika Fellowship will last between one and three months.
The fellowship period must fall between:
1 February 2027 and 15 December 2027
Selected fellows are expected to dedicate their full time to the programme during their fellowship period.
Applicants are expected to receive notification of the university's decision by email by 20 December 2026.

Additional Information
The fellowship also provides:
- A one-time international round-trip travel allowance between the fellow's place of residence and Budapest
- Free access to university services, including libraries and databases
- Opportunities to collaborate with LUPS faculty and researchers
- An international academic environment in Budapest
- Fellows are responsible for arranging and covering their health insurance, accommodation and daily living expenses. Subject to availability, accommodation may be available at the university's campus dormitory for a fee.
Applicants should demonstrate:
- Outstanding and internationally recognized academic achievements and activities in a relevant scientific field
- Full professional proficiency in English
- Active involvement in teaching and educational management
- Membership in international academic or professional organizations
- A research and academic profile aligned with the university's strategy and objectives
- Applicants are expected to prepare a preliminary Academic Project Proposal explaining their ideas and plans for the fellowship period.
- For applicants with less than six years in a full-time academic position, a Letter of Reference is required.
