FUNDED: Apply for the United Nations Academic Impact MCN Millennium Fellowship for young Gloval changemakers

Applications are open for the 2026 United Nations Academic Impact and Millennium Campus Network Millennium Fellowship. This initiative is a semester-long leadership experience hosted directly at participating universities, designed to help students strengthen their ability to create positive social change. Students who are accepted gain access to exceptional learning opportunities, a strong global support system, and international recognition for their impact.

Throughout the program, each participating campus brings together a group of selected Millennium Fellows who gather regularly to learn with and from one another. These in-person meetings emphasize collaboration, personal growth, and bold ideas. Fellows challenge themselves to develop meaningful action plans that respond to sustainability priorities and real community needs. They have the chance to lead activities or initiatives that benefit not only their campus environment but also the wider world. When Fellows reach the goals they set as a team and complete all program responsibilities, they are officially recognized with a certificate from United Nations Academic Impact and the Millennium Campus Network.

The Fellowship experience begins once students submit their applications and are chosen to take part. After selection, they commit to attending frequent on-campus sessions between August and December 2026, guided by Campus Directors and in partnership with the rest of the cohort. Since the program values shared learning and teamwork, missing sessions can lead to dismissal from the Fellowship and the loss of the Fellow designation. Once the program ends and participants successfully complete their requirements, they become part of a growing global network of Millennium Fellowship alumni.

To qualify, applicants must be undergraduate students who are at least 18 years old when the program begins. They must remain enrolled and in good academic standing at their institution for the entire duration of the Fellowship. Students pursuing postgraduate degrees are not eligible to apply.

The application process opens in multiple rounds and encourages students to apply as early as possible. By early August 2026, selected Fellows and Campus Directors will receive confirmation of their acceptance. The Fellowship kicks off with onboarding activities, including a global virtual gathering, followed by structured bi-weekly meetings on campus. The program concludes with a celebratory graduation in November 2026, and participants finalize their experience by submitting reflections and evaluations by the end of that month.
