Application Deadline: December 15, 2023

About:
The International Peace Scholarship Fund, established in 1949, aims to assist international women students in pursuing graduate studies in the United States or Canada. While the scholarship is based on demonstrated financial need, it is not intended to cover all academic or personal expenses. Applicants must show additional financial resources to meet their estimated expenses, such as personal funds, tuition waivers, work scholarships, teaching assistantships, study grants, or other scholarships. The maximum scholarship amount per student is $12,500, with varying amounts awarded based on individual needs.

Eligibility:
The P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship Fund offers financial aid to women from countries outside the United States and Canada who are pursuing advanced degrees at accredited U.S. or Canadian colleges or universities. Recipients are expected to return to their home countries and apply their education to promote global peace positively. To qualify for their first scholarship, applicants must have at least one full year of coursework remaining, be enrolled and in residence for the entire academic year. Doctoral students exclusively working on dissertations are not eligible as first-time applicants. International students at Cottey College can also apply. U.S. or Canadian citizens or permanent residents are not eligible, except for those with residency for tax purposes only. Scholarships do not cover online courses, research, internships, or practical training if not combined with coursework.
