Young people passionate about water, climate action, and sustainability are invited to apply for the Youth for Water and Climate (YWC) Programme 2026, an international capacity-building initiative designed to prepare the next generation of water and climate leaders.

Led by the International Secretariat for Water – Solidarity Water Europe, and supported by Erasmus+, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), and Agence de l’Eau Artois-Picardie, the programme equips young professionals with practical skills, mentorship, and real-world exposure to careers in the water and climate sectors.

About the Programme

The water and climate sectors are facing growing skills gaps and workforce shortages. The Youth for Water and Climate Programme responds by helping young people gain relevant competencies, connect with experienced professionals, and join a strong international community of practice.

Following the success of earlier cohorts—where all participants secured employment or continued studies in the sector—the programme is expanding its reach with a new in-person seminar in Budapest, Hungary, in 2026.
