Do you want to study international relations as a recent graduate? Are you interested in finding out more about the duties of a diplomatic mission and the ways in which the EU Delegation interacts with Kenya to represent EU ideals and interests?

Principal tasks:

Participate actively in the Political, Press, and Information Section's work at the EU Delegation in Kenya.
Following Kenyan political trends and contributing to political reporting and analysis under the direction of the political adviser
Update the delegation's website and social media profiles frequently and assist the delegation in interacting with Kenyan media under the direction of the press and information officer.
Assist in the creation and arrangement of information materials for the Political, Press, and Information Sections.

Set up meetings and record minutes
Perform other responsibilities as needed.

The primary responsibilities include tracking Kenya's relations with other nations, keeping an eye on peace and security developments, and assisting the Head of Delegation and Deputy Head of Delegation in coordinating efforts across all sectors.

They also follow trade and investment-related problems, support the Head of Trade Section on EU Economic Diplomacy activities, and help organise meetings with EU Member States Embassies. They also keep an eye on trade, investment, and market access for EU exporters.

Eligibility Criteria
Possess a university degree and a track record of success in the fields of political science, trade relations, international relations, journalism, or media, with an emphasis on African issues;
possess demonstrated aptitude for organisation, research, writing, and analysis;
Be an effective communicator and team player;
An important benefit is having a general understanding of the EU's foreign policy aims, with an emphasis on Africa;
outstanding proficiency in both spoken and written English
