Applications are open for the 2027 Restoration Stewards Program for Young environmental leaders working to restore ecosystems worldwide . This a global fellowship supporting youth-led solutions that regenerate landscapes and strengthen community resilience.
About the Opportunity
The Restoration Stewards Program is a one-year international fellowship designed to strengthen the leadership, skills, and visibility of young people advancing ecosystem restoration initiatives.
Launched through the collaboration between the Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) and the Youth in Landscapes Initiative, the program empowers emerging restoration champions working across diverse ecosystems while promoting inclusive, community-centered environmental action.
Participants become part of a global network committed to restoring nature while improving livelihoods and social wellbeing.
Program Activities
Throughout the fellowship year, participants will:
- Advance clearly defined restoration project goals
- Apply holistic landscape restoration approaches
- Organize at least one local community engagement activity
- Share project progress through blogs, articles, or social media storytelling
- Collaborate regularly with mentors and fellow stewards
Preference is given to projects that:
- Are based in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, or the Caribbean
- Are led by young women or Indigenous and local community leaders
- Have been operational for at least six months
