Eligibility Criteria
**What They Are Looking For**
As extreme weather events, conflict, and displacement continue to escalate, the demand for humanitarian aid is growing faster than available resources. Tackling these complex and interconnected challenges requires a shift from traditional humanitarian methods to more adaptive, technology-driven solutions and strategic partnerships. Technological advancements have the potential to reduce the impact of disasters, improve emergency response efficiency, and transform the lives of vulnerable communities worldwide.
The Humanitarian Innovation Accelerator (HIA) is seeking proven, innovative, technology-based solutions that provide crisis-affected populations with access to information, financial resources, and essential infrastructure. Additionally, HIA is interested in innovations that enhance the crisis management and coordination capabilities of humanitarian organizations.
They invite applications from established startups, companies, NGOs, and organizations that are prepared to scale impactful solutions for global humanitarian challenges. Innovations should align with one of four challenge areas. The HIA also welcomes "wildcard" entries, including cutting-edge technologies from other sectors that have strong potential for adaptation to humanitarian and emergency contexts.
