GRANTS: Apply for this 2024 Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme for African Entrepreneurs
The Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF), established in 2010, is a philanthropic organization in Africa dedicated to championing entrepreneurship across the continent. Through long-term investments, the Foundation embodies Tony Elumelu’s Africapitalism philosophy, which positions Africa’s private sector, particularly entrepreneurs, as key drivers of the continent's social and economic development. Supporting 15,847 African startups from 54 countries selected from a pool of over 800,000 applicants, TEF provides training, mentoring, and funding.
The program is structured around seven pillars:
1. Mentoring
2. 12-week business management training
3. Knowledge Resources on TEFConnect.net
4. Meetups
5. Annual TEF Entrepreneurship Forum
6. Seed Capital Funding
7. TEF Entrepreneurship Programme Alumni Network
Eligibility criteria include being an African from any of the 54 countries, having scalable business ideas or a business operational for a maximum of 5 years, being at least 18 years old, focusing the application on a single business, and a particular interest in increasing representation from French, Arabic, and Portuguese speakers, as well as female entrepreneurs.
Regarding grants, successful applicants receive seed capital funding of $5,000.
