Job Opportunity : OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) is hiring a Head of the Climate Club Secretariat

About the International Energy Agency (IEA): The IEA, operating within the OECD framework, is dedicated to enhancing energy security, economic growth, and environmental sustainability through international energy policy cooperation.

About the Climate Club: The Climate Club is a high-level international forum comprising 43 members, established to drive industrial decarbonisation. It fosters collaboration to address challenges like carbon leakage and supports the decarbonisation of industries in emerging and developing countries. The Secretariat, hosted jointly by the OECD and the IEA, is seeking a Head to lead its operations.

Role Overview: As Head of the Climate Club Secretariat, you will lead a small multinational team, working closely with Climate Club Co-Chairs and members. The position requires strategic leadership, operational management, and fostering relationships with key international organisations and stakeholders. You will oversee the implementation of the Climate Club’s work programme and manage resources, ensuring efficient operation of the Secretariat.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop agendas and establish strong relationships with Climate Club members and partners.
  • Coordinate high-level meetings, events, and prepare briefing materials.
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the Secretariat, managing staff, resources, and budget.
  • Build partnerships with international organisations, foundations, and the private sector.
  • Represent the Climate Club at global forums, promoting its work and advancing its objectives.

Eligibility Criteria
Qualifications & Experience:

Advanced university degree in economics, international relations, environmental policy, or related fields.
At least 8 years of leadership experience in industrial decarbonisation, climate action, energy transition, or related sectors.
Strong management experience, including overseeing international meetings, teams, and budgets.
Proven fundraising skills and experience working in multilateral political environments.
Fluency in English or French, with knowledge of additional languages a plus.
