The Climate Mobility Community Action Network (CMCAN) is a recently formed organization aiming to incorporate in Canada. Its focus is on addressing climate mobility and displacement through awareness, advocacy, and research.
The organization seeks to achieve these goals through education, collaboration, and the engagement of individuals with lived experience of climate mobility and displacement, as well as a range of stakeholders within the climate sector.
CMCAN's mission is to educate the public about climate migration, co-develop solutions with partners, and create opportunities for people interested in contributing to this field.

Expectations:
CMCAN requires that volunteers in leadership roles be dedicated to their responsibilities and the hours assigned to them. Volunteers must adhere to all CMCAN policies and procedures to ensure the smooth operation of the organization. Additionally, there is an expectation of openness to collaboration with various teams, and the ability to work remotely within diverse cultural contexts.
Length of Roles: All positions are for a one-year term, with a three-month probationary period to assess whether the role is a good fit for the volunteer.
Time Commitment for Positions:
- Manager: 3-5 hours per week
- Co-Lead: 3-5 hours per week
- Assistant: 3-5 hours per week
Paid or Unpaid Work: All positions are volunteer-based and unpaid, with remote work arrangements.
