Join the Her Turn Harvest 2026 — Global Governance & UN Leadership Student Programme (Geneva)
Applications are now open for Her Turn Harvest 2026, an international student engagement programme organized by GWL Voices in partnership with the Geneva Graduate Institute.
The initiative creates an intergenerational platform where students actively contribute to discussions on the future of global governance and the upcoming leadership transition at the United Nations. Participants will collaborate with experts, policymakers, and youth leaders while developing recommendations related to multilateral reform and global leadership.
Her Turn Harvest forms part of the wider Geneva Debate on United Nations leadership, organized alongside the United Nations Foundation.
Programme Experience
Pre-Debate Online Engagement
Selected students will participate in a structured virtual learning phase that includes:
- Four mandatory online sessions exploring:
- Peace and security
- Sustainable development
- Human rights
- Future multilateral cooperation
- Interactive dialogue sessions led by global governance experts
- Collaborative preparation ahead of the Geneva debate
In-Person Programme — Geneva, Switzerland
Participants will travel to Geneva for immersive activities, including:
- Participation in the Her Turn Lab (June 8)
- Co-creation of a youth policy framework titled “Decalogue for the Next UN Secretary-General”
- Policy pitch sessions where student ideas are refined with peer feedback
- Attendance at the Geneva Debate featuring high-level discussions on UN leadership
During the debate, students will serve as rapporteurs, assessing how leadership proposals align with youth-generated recommendations.
Post-Debate Engagement
After the event, participants will:
- Contribute analytical reflections on debate outcomes
- Publish personal experiences through the Her Turn Reflections initiative
- Join an ongoing global youth leadership network within the Her Turn community
