Across the globe, young leaders are making a meaningful impact on both communities and the environment. NAAEE’s EE 30 Under 30 celebrates these passionate changemakers who exemplify dedication, innovation, and leadership through environmental education. Those selected for the EE 30 Under 30 Class of 2025 will gain international recognition, become part of a vibrant network of EE leaders, and access valuable opportunities for professional growth and collaboration.
Environmental education and leadership can take many shapes, and this initiative seeks to honor individuals from all walks of life who are bringing fresh voices and perspectives to the field. Nominations are encouraged from a wide range of sectors and disciplines. Eligible nominees may be:
- Making an impact at any level—locally, nationally, regionally, or globally, in both urban and rural settings.
- Serving in diverse roles, from community organizers and educators to artists, consultants, or nonprofit leaders.
- Using education in varied environments—whether in schools, workplaces, places of worship, media, governments, or grassroots communities.

Additional Information
Individuals from any country are eligible to be nominated.
All nominations must be submitted in English, though language proficiency will not affect the evaluation.
Nominees should be using environmental education (EE) to tackle sustainability challenges, strengthen environmental resilience, and/or foster healthier, more engaged communities.
Nominees should exhibit leadership in EE. This doesn't require holding a formal leadership title—it could mean motivating others towards a common goal, responding to community needs, adapting creatively to obstacles, or encouraging inclusive participation, among other forms of impact.
Video requirement: Each nominee must send in a letter of support and a brief introduction video, no more than 90 seconds.
