Program Benefits

OIST offers the following support to successful applicants:

- **Internship Allowance:** JPY 2,400 per working day (non-taxable, excluding weekends).
- **Commuting Allowance:** OIST Shuttle Bus Pass.
- **Travel Expenses:** One direct round-trip air ticket (dates aligned with the internship term).
- **Accommodation:** Furnished apartment either on or off campus.

OIST will also assist with visa acquisition, insurance arrangements, and local registration, but this support is provided only for the intern, not for dependents or family members.

Eligibility Criteria

be either graduates of these institutions or currently enrolled in the last two years of their undergraduate or master's degrees in universities, colleges, junior colleges, and vocational schools in Japan or abroad.
possess authorisation from their place of education.
possess the academic background required by your chosen OIST host unit or units.
