Open Call for Knowledge Transfer Grants (€25,000 per Project) – Apply now
Organizations across Africa and Europe are invited to apply for the Open Call for Knowledge Transfer, a competitive grant opportunity under the STREAMING initiative. This call supports the creation of practical, digital training programmes that help translate research and innovation into real-world action within sustainable and inclusive food trade systems.
Up to 11 projects will be selected, each receiving €25,000 to design and deliver interactive online training for farmers, processors, start-ups, innovators, and public health actors.
A strong priority of this call is women’s empowerment, with particular encouragement for projects that support women farmers, entrepreneurs, and women-led organisations.
What Is the Grant About?
The Knowledge Transfer grants aim to close the gap between research and practice by funding hands-on, practice-oriented digital courses. These trainings should equip learners with tools and knowledge they can directly apply in food production, processing, trade, and sustainability.
Funded projects should focus on scalable, inclusive solutions that strengthen food systems while addressing environmental, nutritional, and social challenges.
Key Focus Areas
Proposed training courses may address one or more of the following themes:
-
Food supply chain traceability
-
Sustainable farming systems
-
Food safety and quality standards
-
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
-
Nutrition and micronutrient deficiencies
-
Food loss and waste reduction
-
Scaling innovations in food value chains
Courses that meaningfully engage women participants or women-led enterprises are especially encouraged.
Applicants may apply individually or as consortia, including partnerships between African and European organisations. Women-led organisations and projects prioritising female learners are strongly encouraged to apply.
Applicants do not need to be based in STREAMING partner countries.
Don't miss out on the application deadline which is 31 Dec 2025.
