The FAO Internship is a paid program that provides financial assistance throughout its duration, offering interns a monthly stipend of $700 in local currency to ease financial challenges. This initiative allows young talent to actively contribute to UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Strategic Objectives while gaining practical experience at FAO, one of the world’s leading food organizations. Interns will have valuable opportunities to learn, develop skills, and grow professionally through this highly regarded UN paid internship in 2024.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the FAO Internship, applicants must be nationals of an FAO Member country and between 21 and 30 years old at the start, so the internship must commence before their 31st birthday. Candidates should be currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program or be recent graduates. Proficiency in at least one of FAO's official languages (English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, or Russian) is required, with additional language skills considered a plus. Interns need valid residency or immigration status in the host country before starting. Applicants should demonstrate adaptability to an international, multicultural environment, have strong communication skills, and be competent in basic computer applications. Immediate family members (parents, siblings) of FAO employees, as well as individuals who have previously interned with FAO, are not eligible to apply.
